What is Integrative Psychotherapy?
In our sessions I will pay attention to what is happening between us as well as responding empathically and attuning sensitively to the difficulties being explored.
Integrative Psychotherapy affirms the inherent value of each individual. It is a unifying psychotherapy that responds appropriately and effectively to the person at all levels of functioning, and addresses all dimensions of life.
Integrative Psychotherapy is also the process of making whole; referring to the process of integrating personality, taking disowned, unaware, or unresolved aspects of the self and making them part of a cohesive personality. Ideally therapy reduces the use of thoughts and behaviours that inhibit spontaneity and limit flexibility in problem solving and relating to people.
Through integration, it becomes possible for people to face each moment openly and freshly without the protection of a preformed opinion, position, attitude, or expectation.
